Credible Threat

Ominous words in this warning from the FBI.

Cyber Security is an interesting field. I often compare "selling" what we do to life insurance sales. The clients who have experience with breaches are all to ready to invest in the latest and greatest. They intimately understand the pain and the real impact these incidents have on their business. On the other side, some admittedly are not overly concerned, and struggle to justify the expense to thwart an attack that in their eyes "may never happen".

I can empathize, truly. As a business owner I understand the consistent struggle to somehow be knowledgeable enough on a vast number of topics to not be "screwed over" or "sold a bag of tricks" that you don't need and are ultimately a waste of precious resources that could otherwise be utilized to grow the business.

However, I also understand the leverage created by letting experts handle things I am NOT knowledgeable about so that I can focus on what I AM knowledgeable about. I have an expert legal team, expert accountants and financial advisors, expert risk mitigation and insurance partners, expert bankers and payment processors...the list goes on.

I encourage anyone who experiences anxiety reading stories like this, stop. Do not assume this is ONE MORE thing YOU have to figure out. Instead, find an expert team to HANDLE this for you and your business.

Harden the Target, stay Vigilant!
