Just had a conversation with a clinician about these types of concerns.
As consumers we often assume that the people we are entrusting our data to are taking that responsibility seriously.
I encourage business owners to deeply consider this point. Your clients trust you with their information. That trust is implied, and your duty to protect the information is implied. If you operate in a governed vertical that trust may also be regulated/mandated.
It is OK if you do not know how to protect your DATA. It is NOT ok if you do nothing about that ignorance. Presumably your clients come to you because you are a specialist and can help them with something they do not know how to do themselves. In that same spirit, hire a specialist to help you navigate securing your data. It is important.
