I am going to be releasing a few articles regarding elder safety and I hope you read each and do what you can to protect your loved ones.

Starting with this story from the Biden Administration:

The report comes from The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and details a breach discovered in Wisconsin. The breach originated within a software utilized in handling Medicare enrollee information via medical claims.

ONE MILLION people are potentially affected.

"The information included names, Social Security and taxpayer ID numbers, dates of birth, addresses, hospital account numbers, and Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) and/or health insurance claim numbers."

The risk?

Aside from the obvious normal concern over this type of information being coalesced and utilized for fraud, identity theft, financial grifts etc... the target group being elderly citizens means that the statistical potential for leverage is higher than in other demographics.

Please speak with your families about the risks of fraud, scams, phishing, and targeted identity theft. Communicate with compassion, patience, and love. This is dangerous information and we do not want any of these people suffering.

Harden the Target, Stay Vigilant!
