Why is this important?
In a class action lawsuit against "Jerico Pictures Inc., which was doing business as National Public Data (NPD), a background check company that provides access to public records obtained from various public record databases, court records, state and national databases and other repositories nationwide" it is alleged that the company exposed BILLIONS of records.
Nearly 3 Billion to be precise.
"The exposed information contains varying details for nearly 3 billion people which include full names, former and current addresses, and Social Security numbers as well as personal data tied to family members and relatives who are both living and deceased."
As we have been discussing throughout the year your personal information at this point has a HIGH likelihood of having been exposed by one of these massive breaches. Diligence is necessary NOT excessive when it comes to monitoring your legal and online identity. Remember that the information my not be utilized immediately but that does not mean that it will not be utilized.
