In Keeping with our retail trend for the last few posts this 402 million dollar revenue loss from UK based Marks and Spencer is a tragedy.

Marks and Spencer came under attack in late April and initially paused online orders as it scrambled to respond to the incident. Marks and Spencer operates more than 1400 retail locations in various industries and has since disabled online shopping for many brands and has reported that it does not expect to restore full functionality until July.

The incident is still under active investigation but preliminary details show that consumer information was accessed and stolen prior to ransomware infection.
