Arla Foods (a multi-billion dollar food brand) has confirmed that a cyber attack at one of their production facilities in Germany will impact customers down stream as the facility has been offline according to safety protocol since Friday and will likely not return to full production for several days.

Details about how the attack occurred and what systems were targeted are still forthcoming but they aren't really the important topic here. The critical takeaway is how vulnerable are our critical infrastructure systems? Logistics, shipping, food production, water purification and distribution, power creation, storage and distribution, sanitation, emergency services, telecom and mass transportation?

The reality is at this point the answer is painfully obvious. We (along with the rest of the western world) are drastically underprepared to deal with cyber attack on infrastructure at scale.

I urge you once again to consider how vulnerable you are and your business or circle of influence is to critical infrastructure attack. Do not take this question lightly. Take time to tabletop scenarios, eventualities and outcomes.
