Well it is Monday, lets start off with a dose of reality.

Bell Ambulance services of Milwaukee and Alabama Ophthalmology Associates both have reported to HHS suffering PHI breaches following ransomware attacks.

Each attack was claimed by separate well known ransomware gangs and resulted in the reported exposure of over 100,000 patient records.

Why bring this up on Monday morning?

I think these days especially it is far too easy to forget what we are really up against in the modern business world. What the threats really are...

Sure you have people screaming from every rooftop (or social media feed) about how THIS is wrong with your business or THAT. Just focus HERE everyone says and you will be doing great.

However, like the old life insurance salesman....it is my job to consistently highlight the largest threat to YOUR business.

Cyber Crime.

Period.

Even if the brick and mortar is decimated by a natural disaster you still don't have to agonize over the PHI and PII being sold around the world, damaging your reputation and impacting clients for years to come.

It is harsh, it is uncomfortable, but it never stops.

It is Monday folks. Time to take a sip of coffee and remember, you are in a war.
